Query: What is the technology being used by your company i.e. Radio
Reply: V-IntelliTrac operations are based on GPS/GSM/GPRS digital technology. Our Vehicle Tracking Unit (VTU) is an intelligent device. It not only track and immobilize the vehicle but it is also capable of logging the data of the Vehicle movement & occurrences i.e.
V-IntelliTrac (VTU) is also capable of communicating with the vehicle through "data call". This feature enables our control room to communicate with the Vehicle through a data call and all data is transferred to our server. More over, this feature enables us to monitor vehicle movement every 3 to 5 seconds and visualize the same on our monitor in continuity. V-IntelliTrac (VTU) also uses SMS platform to download the location of a vehicle and other required data. It means that we can approach our (VTU) both ways, by sending an SMS or a data call.
V-IntelliTrac (VTU) is also GPRS enabled, as soon mobile telephone industry is ready to provide connectivity to vehicle tracking providers, we will also use this platform to locate the vehicle, and this will further augment our capabilities. Our product is sold with one-year complete replacement and free service warranty. Technical services will remain available after the end of warranty period at very nominal service charge. We have an Operations Department responsible for 24-Hours customer service.
Query: How does your system works (Give Brief)?
Reply: V-IntelliTrac locates the vehicle with the help of two platforms.
1) GPS stands for Geo-Positioning Satellite Systems
This is a cluster of 24 satellites stations in a Geo- stationary orbit around the earth (Globe). When V-IntelliTrac (VTU) is installed and gets connected with a power source, it immediately establishes a contact with 7-8 GPS satellites and start exchanging data with them. This data is processed by the VTU and the information is saved within the memory of the VTU.
2) GSM stands for Global System of Mobile Communication. This platform is provided by the mobile telephone industry of the country.
How the system works
1) Vehicle is snatched under coercion and owner/occupant is asked to leave the vehicle.
The satellites orbiting the earth send command to VTU. Then VTU commence processing the data to pin point the longitude and latitude of a vehicle. This data is communicated to V-IntelliTrac control room and there it get further processed and plotted on a digitalized map of the area. Hence the precise location of the vehicle is determined and recovery of the vehicle is carried out with the help of Law enforcing agencies.
V-IntelliTrac VTU is capable of drawing 32 electronic Geo-fence, to limit the movement of the vehicle. In above scenario whenever the car-snatchers tries to flee the city limits, a breach of Geo-fence triggers the Automatic killing of vehicle's engine, hence the vehicle is immobilized and its location is immediately communicated to the control room where the recovery procedures are carried out.
Query: What is the area (boundaries) your company covers?
Reply: V-IntelliTrac operates all over the country where GSM network is available. In areas where GSM network is not available V-IntelliTrac VTU is capable of storing the log of movement and occurrences and upon re-entry into GSM coverage area it immediately transmits the historical data to server and update its location, occurrence i.e. Ignition on/off, Speed, Harsh breaking, fuel pilferage, opening of delivery valve etc.
Query: What is your back up support arrangement including system as well as personnel?
Reply: V-IntelliTrac operations are dependant upon provision of GSM facility. V-IntelliTrac uses the facilities of service providers such as, Mobilink, Ufone, Warid and Telenor and has agreement with them. Failure of these four service providers has not been reported as yet & we have not come across to any technical difficulties with them. We are maintaining a substantial stock of VTU at all times. Beside professionals, we have 20 Installers deployed for speedy Installation at 15 installation bays, 20 operation officers along with supervisors are deployed in three shifts at control room. Eight MTUs cars equipped with tracker and wireless communicators are at standby round the clock for recoveries and support.
M.I.S: V-IntelliTrac M.I.S is managed by highly qualified personnel; their job is to design software for recording of all data related with the vehicle movements, locations and web access. Their day-to-day assignments are to keep our operations abreast of new technological advancement in software capabilities.
GIS & R&D: We have full-fledged Geographic Information System; their job is to update the existing digitalized map of the country. They are responsible to vectorize the satellite images & to draw newly erected milestone & landmarks over the existing map.
Query: How many facilities/Towers your company has?
Reply: V-IntelliTrac operates on GPS/GSM/GPRS that does not required towers. We have established connectivity with SMS of U-fone & Mobilink by provision of direct point-to-point microwave link that reduces connectivity time and enhances the response capabilities.
Query: How do you track the system failure?
Query: In case of satellite technology which satellite do you use?
Reply: V-IntelliTrac operations are based on GPS/GSM/GPRS technology. At present we are not performing satellite tracking but our Unit is equipped to cater this need too. We have plans to incorporate satellite tracking in near future.
Query: What is the recovery time (Give examples that can be verified)?
Reply: We can report two instances where by breach of Geo-fence has triggered the distress alarm. Our control room has immediately responded to the call and emergency measures were observed. Standard Operating Procedures came into action and Vehicle was immobilized and MTU were dispatched to the area near tool plaza and in second instance near Two Minutes Chowrangi at Surjani town. In both the instances our recovery vehicles arrived within 20 minutes.
